ORIGINAL EXHAUST REWORK This is a modification which I found on a german site. Alas, the maker only put it online in german. Resulting in numerous emails from people asking me to translate. So here is the english version. In short : the basic principle : eliminating a damper chambre to allow the engine to "exhale" better. How is it done ? -1- Obvious : you take the original exhausts. Dril out the three rivets holding the black shield and the tube shield. Now you see the base welding of the exhaust -which is mostly quit ugly- . At this point you take a good metal drill (5mm does the job) and you drill a lot of holes around the tube. -2- With a rubber hammer, you gently hit the pipe until it moves. -3- With a pair of pliers, grab the tube and yank it out. Some force may be needed. You can see at the picture why. -4- Clean out the hole. -5- At this point you put in the pre-made new tube, which consists of the following parts : an inox tube with a total lenght of approx. 80mm, sticking 28 mm to the outside, 52mm to the inside. Inside diameter : 30mm, outside 32mm. This tube is welded on a round inox plate with a 32mm hole in the center. The diameter is exactly the same as the original tube shield. -6- When you're not a welding heroe, it's not that difficult to let the tube/shield assembly made by someone else. -7- The original shields are mounted on top of the new one, and held on place with three new rivets. |

The end
result kinda looks like this : you can see the change in exhaust flow.

Remark
: the exact dimensions and interior construction of the pipes may differ
slighty, I didn't X-ray them.... The principle stands, however.
