Porsche
911 Carrera RSR 3.8 Back in 1993, for people who wanted to race in the new GT category, Porsche developped the RSR 3.8. Both models are based on the Carrera RS 3.8 and the racing models were proposed as Kit A & Kit B by the factory. The first one made the car authorized for road using. In fact, it was ideal for circuit races. For 10,000 DM more, the car received a security cage, a racing harness, a fire extinguisher for cockpit equipment and competition brakes settings. A special lightened clutch plate was propounded as an option. The Kit B converts the Carrera RS in Carrera RSR, forbidden on road and exclusively set for GT races. The car receives a competition engine delivering 325hp ( limit in german championship ) and even 350hp in maximum evolution. A competition clutch and a second oil radiator are used. The body interior is depleted of any furniture or sound proofing material. It features a complete anti-fire installation. All the suspensions is mounted on Unibal spherical joints and the FT3 fuel tank was conformable at FISA statements. |
