2. Specific information

Panama is also rather a rich country. We took the bus from David to Panama City because we had to hurry up. We had an appointment with a friend in Ecuador. In Panama City we tried to catch a boat to Ecuador, but cargo's are only leaving Panama City on thursday, and at that moment there were no other boats, f.e. yachtings going to Ecuador. You can find out things about these boats at the different harbours in Panama City. We didn't have the time to wait until thursday, so we took the plane to Quito. They charged us 45 Dollars each bike, to get them on the plane. Also taxes are quite high to leave the country by plane.

3. Description of the road

From the border to La Concepcion you have the impression the road is flat, but it goes a little uphill. Further on to David, +/- 26km, there's only the highway to follow.
