* The fanzine that is advertised on this page is sold out! So, don't bother writing to them anymore...sorry! (19.7)

* Join the revolution!!! We're trying to catch Crispian's attention, and how? Well, by bombing him with e-mails....
Here's what to do....

1) If you already haven't, send Anni a blank email with "I'm in!" in the subject line. As soon as you can - I'd like to know how many of you joined.

2) On Tuesday 18th (NOT on Monday or Wednesday), go to Crispian's microsite

3) Click the 'contact' link and write an email to Crispian.

The emails should look a bit the same, so the person who reads them (hopefully Crispian) would be thinking "hey what's this??"... Here's an example:

[insert your greeting here, eg. "Hi Crispian!"]

We're a small group of K:S fans on an internet discussion list and anxiously waiting for something to happen. Since nothing much was happening, we decided to have a little revolution, for fun.

I'd like to know...
[and here you can write whatever you think would fit. I'm sure you all have something to ask and/or to say. Do it politely.]

Hoping to hear something soon,

[say 'bye' and sign with your name]

4) Don't tell about this on the msg-board, cos they might be spying. Tell people by email or icq or shout out of the window - as long as Crispian's not hearing! ;)

5) On Friday 21st come to celebrate the revolution in Fairyland chat!

Good luck!!!!

* The band with Johnny Marr and Alonza is called the Healers, and an album should be released in autumn. There will be a short tour of this new band as support act for Oasis.(17.4)

* New rumours and gossip! There are some rumours about Lonz and Pauli working together on music and the following is not a rumour but actually true, Lonz is gonna work together with ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr. Now, that should be interesting. (10.4)

* On 23 april, Pauli and his wife's first baby was born. It is a girl, and has been named Ivy.
Fairyland would like to congratulate the couple and wish Ivy good luck in her life!
(1.4)

* Tomorrow's (18 January) Crispian birthday, so have a great day, Crispian!!! For he's a jolly good fellow...etc... ;-) (17.1)

* There is now a new fanzine on the market, so to speak, made by Esther and Andrea. You can find all the details on how to order it, by clicking on 'info' in the menu above. Good luck, girls! (8.1)

* According to the latest rumours, Pauli got married recently to his 'mediaeval baebe' Katharine Blake, who is reportedly pregnant. If it is true, congrats to our Pauli! (1.11)

Singles

* Sound of Drums, which was never released on the continent, will be released in Holland
(not sure about the rest of Europe, though) at the end of August '99.
You can now enter a competition with sonymusic Holland to win Kula Shaker t-shirts. If you're interested, go to the official site and have a look at the e-mail addy for the competition.

* The brand new single, Shower Your Love, or as we know it, Show me your Glove, is released on 3 May and features b-sides like The Dancing Flea and the more than wonderful Tin Terriers.
There has been a mix-up in the CD1 & CD2 formats, because both versions had the same b-sides, but that mix-up was sorted out and people could exchange their faulty versions with the right versions. From what I've heard, the single might be released in Europe on 17 May
(I'm not sure since I ordered it in the UK)

* Mystical Machine Gun, released on 22 February.

The b-sides are :

CD1:Mystical machine gun, guitar man, prancing bride
CD2:Mystical machine gun, avalonia, holy river

(the picture on the cover of the single is taken in 1927 during a solar eclipse in Giggleswick.)

Tourdates:

Apart from the current European Tour, Kula Shaker will perform at Spain's Benicassim Festival (got cancelled), Glastonbury, Lowlands (Holland) and Pukkelpop (Belgium)

And this comes from Sony...

Kula Shaker are the first to confirm their appearance at this summer's funkiest eclipse party - The Lizard.
The Lizard is the first liscenced event that will celebrate the total eclipse of the Sun on August 11th. The Lizard will run from Saturday August 7th to Thursday August 12th, 1999 and will be set in the natural idyllic sea-coast of Cornwall at Rosuic Common, Goonhilly Downs.

"The eclipse is nature's celebration of the millenium. The timing of the eclipse and the year 2000 are going to make this the most happening event of the year. We chose to be involved with the Lizrd because they're putting together
a truly unique event and are interested in the quality of people's experience. The festival is about people coming together, respect for the environment, and ultimately World Peace" - Crispian Mills

This year's eclipse path symbolically ties the old west country of Britain with India, and it is anticipated that this will be
reflected in some of the festival attractions. A number of top class Indian classical and folk musicians have been invited to perform, among them revered flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia, western prodigy Talvin Singh and Dhol Foundation with
Johnny Kalsi.

"I think the millenium is simply about inspiration, we're all looking for things to inspire us to move forward, give us hope and sense of excitment about the possibilities of the future. That's what this event is all about, it's a reason to party that brings us together, I think it's gonna be quite magical". - Crispian Mills

Event themes will be woven into a wide range of music, entertainment, surfing, swimming, games, art, a very large cinema screen and much, much more.

The Lizard festival will have two main stages, one with a capacity of 15,000. The festival has a license for 20,000 people
and the site, lying directly in the "path of totality" leads down to some of the most stunning surfing beaches in Cornwall.
The site features some of Britain's best natural beauty and is flanked on either side by ancient standing stones, and the space age Goonhilly satellite station.
