Alcazar is Sweden's latest pop sensation. The band features Andreas, Tess and Annikafiore. Andreas (Lundstedt) has been in the music business before. In his home country Sweden, he released several singles like 'Driver Dagg Faller Regn', 'Hey Ya Hey Ya' and 'Jag Saknar Dig, Jag Sagnar Dig'.

Alcazar is managed by Alexander Bard's (ex-Army Of Lovers) new managing company Bullgod.

The band has shot the video for its first single 'Shine On' on May 20-22 1999 in a Stockholm theater. Director is Fredrik Boklund who did all the Army Of Lovers-masterpieces in the past. KinoEye is the name of the company who's responsible for the Alcazar videoclips. Frederik is very popular at BMG from the moment Alexander Bard introduced him to the BMG Sweden staff (BMG Sweden is Alcazar's record company).

The complete debut album of Alcazar has been produced and mixed and is ready for release. The recording of the album had been delayed by sampling clearances for the three disco tracks on it. 'Shine On' has just been released in home country Sweden on 13th September 1999. The album, entitled 'Casino' ,will probably be released this winter, together with the second single 'Crying In The Discotheque'.

The delays with Alcazar are due to the fact that BMG International want to coordinate the release internationally and have grown increasingly enthustiastic about the project. Alcazar are now on an equal priority with Robyn and Jennifer Brown within BMG. The delays with Vacuum (a synth-pop formation featuring Mattias Lindblom and Marina Schiptjenko) had many reasons where ofcourse Alexander Bard leaving the band and Mattias then wanting to re-record half of the album 'Seance At The Chaebol' was the main reason.

Former Army Of Lovers-fans will love Alcazar. They are like a new improved Army. Alcazar's debut appearance at the Workouten jubilee party in Stockholm to an audience of 500 went down a storm. They are so glamorous, especially diva Annikafiore (that's Rickard Vogelberg's opinion ayway). Camilla Thulin, who did most of the costumes for Army Of Lovers, will also be responsible for Alcazar's outfits !
